The students understand the relationship between architecture and the environment and can classify and discuss architecture in different conceptual fields. The concept of the environment is divided into fields such as nature, society, technology, art, politics, ecology or economy and compared and discussed individually with architecture. This creates a complex, coherent picture of architecture and the role that architecture plays within our environment.
The lectures are based on different pairs of relationships. In doing so, we take the liberty of classifying the term environment and contrasting it with architecture. architecture and environment architecture and nature architecture and technology architecture and art architecture and people architecture and society architecture and language architecture and space architecture and politics architecture and economy architecture and ecology
Each meeting consists of an information block and a discussion round. In the course of the semester it is expected that what has already been heard will flow into the discourse and be discussed comprehensively. A continuous presence of the students is therefore more than desired.
Written work (homework) towards the end of the semester, see exam dates for deadlines. A continuous presence of the students is therefore more than desirable.
