In this course students will improve their translation skills; they will learn to translate functionally and with regard to specific text types.

In this course students will translate different types of texts from german to french. A special focus will be on students improving their textual and cultural competence.

Text analysis, determination of the text function, practical exercises, and collaborative comparison. Texts translated at home will be discussed in the course both in plenary sessions and in groups.

Written (midterm and final exams)

Reading lists and course materials will be provided electronically.

Participants must have completed the module "Pflichtmodul 14" or "Wahlmodul 1".

For organizational reasons attendance in the first class is mandatory.

Before completing the entrance and orientation phase of studies (StEOP), students may enrol for courses comprising a maximum of 22 ECTS.
