Compulsory Module 2: Genesis and Exegesis of Classical Texts and Arabic Language (12.5 ECTS-Credits; 6 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Graduates are able to read, understand and explain complex Arabic texts. They are able to differentiate between traditional and modern approaches of Qu¿ran exegesis and to practise them on exemplary selected text passages. They acquire advanced knowledge in contempo-rary Hadith hermeneutics.
Compulsory Module 4: Contemporary Theology (5 ECTS-Credits; 2 h) (no courses)

Learning Outcome: Graduates can describe the genesis of Islamic theology and its contemporary conceptions and productively use it for everyday questions. They are able to newly contextualise and understand classic Islamic practices and theories in actual everyday life of today. They are moreover able to explain methodical and practical differences and commonalities of theology and practice and to explain connections.
Compulsory Module 5: Doctrines of Faith and Daily Life in Islam (10 ECTS-Credits; 4 h) (no courses)

Learning Outcome: Graduates are able to critically evaluate and reflect aspects of the doctrine and practice of faith and based on this, they are able to develop models that can be applied in a plural and secular society. Moreover, they are able to transfer justifiable Islamic-theological approach-es with regards to questions of everyday life.
Compulsory Module 9: Consolidation in Religious Education and Didactics (10 ECTS-Credits; 6 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Graduates are able to describe the development of approaches and models of community work and pedagogy and to productively use them for actual practice. They competently recognise different forms of interreligious conduct of Muslims as result of complex and individual processes. Graduates are competent in the framework conditions of religious education at the respective school types ( with regards to handicap, cultural aspects, gender, social inequality, interreligious aspects). They have fundamental subject-didactic skills for competence-based planning, managing and evaluating teaching and learning pro-cesses at school. Graduates acquire basic competences for teaching religious education for the age range of 14- to 19-year olds.

Learning Outcome: Nach erfolgreicher Absolvierung des Moduls sind die Studierenden in der Lage, eine inhaltliche Kurzbeschreibung der geplanten Masterarbeit (Exposé) zu verfassen, einen zeitlichen Ablauf zu skizzieren und eine schriftliche Masterarbeitsvereinbarung abzuschließen.
Compulsory Module 11: Master's Thesis Defense (2.5 ECTS-Credits) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: positive completion of all other compulsory modules and the Master¿s Thesis
Learning Outcome: Reflection of the Master¿s Thesis in the overall context of the Master¿s Programme. The focus lies on theoretical understanding, methodological fundamentals, imparting of the results of the Master¿s Thesis and presentation skills.
