222003 Fundamental Theology (Religion): Humanity Before the Mystery of God
winter semester 2013/2014 | Last update: 07.11.2013 | Place course on memo listHistory of fundamental theology; concepts of religion; how to discuss and argue on God today (atheism, secularism); why human beings are directed to revelation; meaning of religious experience
The subject "religion" as a part of fundamental theology is dealing with the human being as radical openness: to himself, to other persons, to the whole reality and (as transcendental condition) to this mystery, from which we come and to which we finally belong to. In the context of atheism and the radical plurality of our situation in questions of "Weltanschauungen", it is necessary to distinguish between God and idols and to renew the most important concern of Karl Rahners "Hearer of the Word".
