Students get a basic overview on the beginnings and development of women and gender studies with a focus on women and gender history. Students get to know basic concepts and theories of cirtical gender studies as well as the debates in which they were developed.
In this class students get a basic historical overview on women and gender studies and their historical development. We discuss central concepts and get to know the most important debates and scholars in the field. Texts will serve to illustrate the theories.
