800727 SE Job Application Training: How to apply for and land the job you want
summer semester 2016 | Last update: 04.02.2016 | Place course on memo listBy the end of this course, students will have their visually appealing, powerful and persuasive (alternative) CV ready and will have designed at least one creative and innovative application document, such as a prezumé. They will also know their strengths and skills and how to present them effectively in a job interview.
Students will prepare for the application process. During the course students will learn to assess and prsent their individual strengths and skills. They will create effective and alternative job application documents for future jobs to to apply at a university at home or abroad and they will practice for a successful job interview. The course focus will be on each participant's authentic and effective self-presentation which can be practiced at the "Career and Competence" job fair at the Congress Innsbruck on Wednesday 27 April 2016 (http://www.c-und-c.at/). Attending the "Career and Competence" is highly recommended but not obligatory.
Small group activities, exercises with self- and third-party assessment, questionnaires and dialogues, writing self-marketing packages, interviewing and being interviewed. The course instructor uses, teaches and learns predominantly with new media and e-learning tools.
No exam. Active participation in class. Several short written activities linked to how to write a CV, application documents and job interviews. One alternative CV and one alternative application document. Regular participation.

No prerequisites but a willingness to work with new media and e-learning tools would be greatly appreciated.
