The students can describe and classify the main definitions and concepts of inter‐ and transdisciplinarity. They are able to critically reflect and analyze the potential of the own discipline for coping with complex problems in an interdisciplinary way. They can realize and rate the advantages and the relevance of joined‐up thinking and networking.

Definitions and concepts of inter- and transdisciplinarity will be introduced. The students develop a common statement of a food and support problem relevant for nature and society. They bring in their disciplinary knowledge, refer to each other, reflect and analyze the potential of joined‐up thinking and networking with regard to these topics.

Inputs by the lead facilitator, mind map, reading, autonomous enquiries, small written preparations and presentations, guided plenary discussions.

Small written preparations, presentations and statements for plenary discussions will be marked.

A reference list will be provided in the first session.

Ranking of registration:
Students will be ranked according to semesters, higher ranked semesters are preferred. In case the decision has to be made between two students with the same amount of semesters, the one with more ECTS is preferred.
