- to understand the basic processes controlling fate and transport of nutrients in the environment
- to understand the basic principles of circular economy.
- to understand the physical principles contolling the water cycle
- to understand sources and consequences of climate change
- to understand the main problematics concerning environmental remediation actions
- to analyze the sustainability of actual economic growth models
- to develop sustainable approaches for the management of the case studies presented in the lecture
Water-energy nexus in the Alps: what are the effects of the energy market on the hydrological cycle in the Alps?
Land use and remediation strategies: which are the most relevant contaminants? how is it possible to remediate soul and groundwater?
Climate change and decarbonization: which proofs do we have about climate change and what are its consequences? what are possible countermeasures?

Discussion of the case study from the natural sciences point of view
Discussion from the economic point of view
Group discussion about possible solutions
Presentation of the students
