Learning Outcome:

Communication of psychoanalysis as a genuine cultural theory; the acknowledgement of major psychoanalytic concepts and their application in the field of social theory and cultural criticism.

Contents:

The seminar serves to communicate the differentiated concept of culture on the basis of genuine psychoanalysis (as Freud, in 1930, has attempted to establish in great discomfort), and as well to investigate the application of psychoanalytic insights of modern/postmodern age cultural and social theorists.

It should be made clear that psychoanalysis makes a vital contribution to the interpretation and explanation of actual cultural phenomena.
