Examination of different paradigms and patterns of interpretation in global history; deepened knowledge on the basis of recent syntheses

For some years “global history” has ranked among the flourishing branches of historical research. The tutorial first aims at characterising the leading perspectives in this field in the light of approaches of comparative, transnational, transfer and entangled history. Furthermore, the theoretical knowledge will be deepened by examining the methodical and empirical features of recent syntheses on the global history of the early modern period and the nineteenth century.
