Reflection of the connection between the communication of faith and life, insights in rites and rituals as practices for deepening faith.
People get into contact with god and with each other. This happens with words, action and symbols. In this course we’ll have a look at interdisciplinary outcomes concerning the meaning of symbolic actions. In a next step we’ll deal with rites and rituals of the Christian and Islamic Faith and discuss whether rites and rituals are able to deepen our faith.
Process oriented work, Reading, single- and groupwork, plenary discussion, presentation
Knowledge of compulsory reading; continuous participation; active collaboration; paper.
