Students know the most important developments of Church doctrine on the sacraments, understand the significance of sacramental thinking for understanding reality, the sacraments of the Church, and theology in general.

Historical developments of Church doctrine on the sacraments, sacraments as real symbols, primordial sacrament – basic sacrament – individual sacraments; particular efficacy of sacramental signs; anthropological foundation; sacramental structure of Christian theology in general.
