summer semester 2022 | Last update: 14.09.2023 | Place course on memo listThe students will know anthropological assumptions, theories on education, as well as developmental psychological theories and their significance for early childhood education. They will know current and “classical” educational approaches as well as selected domains of education, and they will be able to reflect their relative importance against the background of developmental psychological theories.

- Definitions of education („Bildung“ and „Erziehung“)
- Anthropological assumptions and developmental psychological theories
- Theories on education in early childhood education (e.g., self-education, co-constructivism)
- current and “classical” educational approaches (e.g., situational approaches, compensatory education)
- Domains of education in early childhood education (e.g., language, early mathematics, natural science)
- Presentations of the lecturer
- Presentations of students
- Discussion of scientific papers
Course with formative assessment, i.e., students are graded on the basis of written and/or oral tasks assigned regularly over the term.
