- meaningfully shape social engagement on the basis of their professional knowledge.
- deal in depth and critically with questions of socialization, identity and personality development.
- formulate essential statements of selected theoretical approaches and introduce them into a discourse.
- derive scientifically relevant special questions as well as questions relevant to their field of practice.
- transfer specialized knowledge to everyday practice.
- reflect on their practical experiences with reference to the specialized knowledge.
- contribute to the transfer of know-how between university & society.
- recognize the relevance of science communication & voluntary engagement.
Service Learning projects in psychosocial fields of action, which are developed, accompanied & reflected on the basis of selected theories on socialization, identity & personality development and special questions derived from them.
Service Learning consists of obligatory practice AND accompanying courses.
- Practice in a social institution or in a project for a social institution (listening kiosk, exhibition for senior citizens' homes, learning assistance, etc.)
- Reflection on practice by means of a learning diary
- Discussion of scientific texts & various inputs in relation to the individual practice situations
- Presentations of the students
Course with formative assessment, compulsory attendance in the LV & at the practice place
- in practice: commitment & proactive attitude & willingness to reflect
- in the course: active participation in discussions, reading, development of questions relevant to the field of practice, reflections, interim presentations

Attendance at the preliminary meeting is required for participation.
The planned workload based on 4 ECTS is composed of classroom teaching, self-study & practice in an institution. Willingness & commitment & appropriate time flexibility for this is required.
