The students are aware of current demands on human relationships, including insights of human and social science; they are familiar with important argumentations in the tradition of Christian theological ethics and can communicate these independently and in a context-appropriate manner.

The course covers the personal life in the family and the social network of friendship. Historical developments and current social debates on personal forms of life are addressed. The social functions of partnerships, marriage and family today, concrete problems of gender, identity and intergenerational relationships are discussed as well as the questions of sex education, emotional competence and Christian orientations for the design of partnership relations in self-responsibility and mutual respect.
