  • Reflective personal analysis of one's own biography, networking it into and/or linking it up with the theoretical background.
  • Knowledge of basic terms and concepts as well as selected developmental theories.
  • Insight into development processes, possible deviations and reflection of consequences for everyday life at school.

Starting from one's own biography, we will take up and deal with central themes of developmental psychology for childhood and adolescence.

The presentation will focus on the following aspects:

  • Developmental psychology: basic concepts, subject matter, tasks, time frames
  • Selected theories of development
  • Development in selected functional areas: the development of learning and performance motivation; significant stages of development in social and emotional terms; building of an identity
  • Deviations in the development during childhood & adolescence:
    • The Significance of Vulnerability and Resilience
    • The Salutogenetic Approach
    • Psychopathological Perspectives
  • Focus: Resource-oriented examination
  • Reflection of one's own development process

Lecture, exercises, self & group reflection, discussion, discussing of and working on case studies, use of systemic techniques, textual work.

Written exam.
