They have an overview of the broad range of formal, informal and non-formal educational processes and have basic knowledge of the institutions and contexts in which education, teaching and learning take place.
The lecture provides an overview of formal, informal and non-formal educational processes from childhood to adulthood and gives an overview of different forms of learning and education. Among other things, different forms of learning are addressed and discussed in the context of current social-cultural conditions. Another focus is on the comparison of different contexts relevant to learning and education, such as school, family, peer group and media. Learning and educational processes are analyzed and discussed from a life course perspective as well as in the light of their social and institutional conditions.
