- Develop a basic understanding of moral psychology.
- Acquisition of basic, exegetical skills, as well as the ability to grasp complex, argumentative structures.
Resentment is an attitude we take towards wrongdoers or morally bad actions. To forgive people for actions or character traits, on the other hand, appears to consist in overcoming such attitudes. In this seminar, we will deal with several descriptive, as well as normative questions surrounding these issues. What is resentment? When is it appropriate to forgive someone? Do I have a claim-right to be forgiven after making amends and providing rectification?
Autonomous work on understanding texts; presentations; group-discussion.
Presentation and term-paper.
The literature for the seminar will be provided via Olat.
