Compulsory module 1: The World of Religions (8.5 ECTS-Credits, 5 h)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: The students are able to explain the basics of different religions. They are able to explain which religions with which intellectual-historical background are predominant in the world and can describe the motives on the basis of which people follow religious movements.
Compulsory Module 2: The Holy Scripture of Christianity (6 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Students will be able to explain and illustrate the structure and guiding hermeneutics of the Christian Bible, as well as the processes of formation of the Old and New Testament collections. They are able to place the individual scriptures in their historical context of origin and are able to counter ideological narrowness with an understanding of scripture at the level of contemporary biblical scholarship.
Compulsory Module 3: The History of Christianity (9.5 ECTS-Credits, 5hrs.)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: The students have a basic overview of the history of Christianity; they can grasp the main features of the historical development of Christianity in a reflective way and independently work on exemplary research questions from the field of biblical studies and historical theology at a high theoretical level and present the results of their work in a context-appropriate manner.
Compulsory module 4: The Rituals of Christianity (6 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Students have a systematic fundamental knowledge of Christian liturgy as well as in-depth insights into a specific ritual repertoire; they can independently present the knowledge they have acquired in the module at a high theoretical level.
