In a first part, students will get in touch with experts working on different topics relevant for mountain tourism like: Chances and challenges for small tourism businesses, demand and supply aspects of tourism, relations between mountain (organic) agriculture and tourism, potential and risks of mountain sports for personal health, connections between mountain tourism and natural hazards, feedbacks between climate (change) and mountain tourism, present day and future mobility (strategies) for mountain tourism, evolution of mountain tourism in the 20th century, feedbacks between mountain tourism and mountain ecosystems…
In a second part, a scientific conference will be simulated in which the participating students will act as conference organizers, session conveners, and presenters of their scientific work in an “interdisciplinary language”.
The contents of the course will be defined by the students’ master topics, the overall umbrella being mountain tourism from various viewpoints, ranging from social, economic, strategic, historic, environmental aspects, sustainable concepts to sport‑health aspects and politics. The course will also facilitate first steps into the real scientific world (abstracts, presentations, conferences).
Oral presentations, posters, discussion, organization, seminar attendance
