One of the fundamental Question which are, according to Immanuel Kant (1724-1804), of special interest for our human reason is: “What may I hope for?” In this Seminar we will be concerned with his answer to this question which can (at least in part) be found in the dialectics of pure practical reason in his Critique of Practical Reason. In order to discuss this part of his work, however, we have to acquire some basic understanding of the Kantian theoretical philosophy, as well as his practical philosophy.
Independent reading of the texts; joint discussion during the seminar.
Term paper.
The required literature will be provided in scanned form.
