Curr. 2021 § 5 (1) 12: The students can reflect the current status of the debates on the dynamics of social change in agriculture and rural areas and describe their interactions with social developments (in Austria, Europe and in countries in the south). They will be able to reflect on and analyse processes of urban-rural relationships as well as the fundamentals of regional development processes using social science theories.

The lectures cover the dynamics of social change on farms, in rural areas and their interrelation with developments in wider society. These issues are discussed on different levels (local, national austrian European and global north-south relations). Rural-urban linkages, basics of rural develoment, environmental sociaology and food sociology are firther topics.

Enrolement for students of the BA Management and Economics UC 033 571 (elective module) and of the diploma program international economic and business studies (IWW) UC 155 (compulrory module) is not via the LFU:online-Punkteanmeldung, but via registration button  „LFU:online-Anmeldung“.

Students are requested to write in the remarks section upon enrolment that they attend the lecture in the frame of the elective module (for manangement and economics) or compulsory module (in the case of IWW)
