In the humanities, algorithms are increasingly being used to evaluate texts and data. Basic knowledge of programming enables humanities scholars to gain a better understanding of technical processes and possibilities. Graduates of the course should be able to write a simple program and have a better understanding of computational processes.

Basics of programming in Python (e.g. variables, control structures), creation of a simple program.

Home study of given literature and exercises (elements of the "flipped classroom"), supplementary lectures by the lecturer, presentations of the exercises, discussions and exercises during the lesson.
Participation, presentation of the exercises, final exam.

Reading list will be provided.

You need your own laptop with administrator rights (installation of programs).
